Who we are

We are an international software engineering company with headquarters in Phoenix, AZ (United States) and regional offices in Lisbon (Portugal), Bonn (Germany), Bratislava (Slovakia), Prague (Czech Republic), Kiev (Ukraine), Klaipeda (Lithuania) and Dubai (United Arab Emirates). Our main website address is: https://connect.software

What personal data we collect and why

Phone numbers

Phone numbers are used only for authentication via sms. We do not display your phone number to other users, do not disclose to third parties, do not resell or use in any way other than internal authentication mechanisms.

Our app staff is able to view user phone numbers in a secure admin session, in case of additional account verification.

Messages

All chat messages are encrypted with end-to-end data encryption using a proprietary data transmission protocol. No operator or admin can see user messages, unless invited by the user to a specific group chat.

Media

All media is stored in its original media format, physically stored in files named in a way that is impossible to guess. When photos are sent to chat, all image EXIF data is erased and images are resized to fit the device screen, unless sent as files.

Authentication Tokens

Once registered, accounts obtain unique tokens for each connected device. This token helps its owner access the network without the need for sms authentication every time. These tokens are listed on every account. A token does not expire until its device is unregistered by the account owner.

Embedded content from other websites

Objects in the catalog of this app may include links to external website. Content of these external websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Analytics

We do not use Google Analytics or any other data analytics products in this app. We do not report any data to any aggregators or third-party analytics services. We strongly believe that user data is priceless and should never be sold or shared. We do not use any tracking tools in this app.

Who we share your data with

We do not share your personal information with anyone, including staff, vendors, agents, or anyone else. We do not have any agreements with any marketing agencies or data aggregators. Our business is within the scope of what this app offers in terms of products and offers.

How long we retain your data

All messages, call histories and contact lists are perpetually kept on our servers in protected format. If you send a message, it will be retained indefinitely. When the message is unsent, it is marked “hidden”, but is still present in the database (every messenger app does the same due to the way message sequences are designed).

For users that register on the linked websites (if any), this app will store the login data and other personal information they provide in their user profile. Website administrators can see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account with this app/service, you can manually request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you (replace your data with zeros). This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, database integrity or security purposes.

Where we send your data

We use Google Firebase (FCM) and Apple APNS for instant message notifications. These are the native services of Google and Apple and are core services of your mobile device operating system. There is no other known way to receive a notification or a call when your device is idle. Any data that is send via Firebase will be partially known by Google.

Your contact information

We share your profile name in the user directory search results of this app. Users can type in your name, find your profile in search results, add to contacts and start chat or call. Your entered bio will also be seen on your profile card. Neither your user segment nor your account phone number are displayed to anyone.

Additional information

How we protect your data

We take data security very seriously. Our database is encrypted by design and runs on a server with an encrypted data partition. The code of this app, its backend services and the data protocol are proprietary and cannot be found anywhere on the internet. This code is not open source or otherwise known to public, so its structure and methods are hard to guess or reverse-engineer. We use multiple methods on our servers to detect and prevent any malicious attempts. We also offer bounties to professional penetration testing agencies to help identify and close any loopholes before attackers do.
